I’ve spent much of my life writing poetry, verses, and short stories. When my daughter, Hannah was born I began to write poems that shared how my heart grew bigger in size, the moment I looked into her sweet eyes.
My children’s books weave my experience as an art therapist and as a mom with my poetry and my painting. My goal is to create books that connect a child to the care-giver and reader of the book in a meaningful and loving way.
I design books that are soft and touchable with flaps or ears or hats so that a child can embrace the comfy, loveable book. I also write books that can be personalized allowing for the child to become a character in the story. My books share messages of belonging. I believe that when a child feels they belong, they feel safe, loved, and can grow to be all they can be.
Today, I am proud to publish children’s books with Little Brown, Scholastic, and Sourcebooks.
I also write books for grown ups too. I design and write guided journals, scrapbooks, gift books, postcard books and address books with the goal of creating meaningful books that are beautiful and that inspire the spirit.
Living Artfully, published by Simon and Schuster, shares my philosophy for creating the life we imagine. This uplifting and inspirational lifestyle guide is filled with ideas, personal stories and inspiring quotes.
